Common use
Viagra Soft is indicated for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) in adult men. Erectile dysfunction is the consistent or recurrent inability to achieve and/or maintain a penile erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual performance. The medication is not indicated for use by women, children, or newborns. It requires sexual stimulation to be effective and does not increase sexual desire (libido).
Dosage and direction
The recommended starting dose for most patients is 50 mg taken as needed, approximately 30-60 minutes before anticipated sexual activity. Based on efficacy and tolerability, the dose may be increased to a maximum recommended dose of 100 mg or decreased to 25 mg. The dosage should not be taken more than once per 24-hour period. The tablet should be placed in the mouth and chewed or allowed to dissolve. It can be taken with or without food; however, a high-fat meal may delay the onset of action. The maximum recommended dosing frequency is once per day.
Precautions
- Cardiovascular Status: Patients with pre-existing cardiovascular disease should undergo a thorough medical risk-benefit assessment prior to initiating treatment, as sexual activity carries a potential cardiac risk.

Possible side effect

- Very Common (≥1/10): Headache, flushing.
- Common (≥1/100 to <1/10): Dyspepsia, nasal congestion, dizziness, visual disturbances (e.g., blurred vision, cyanopsia), back pain, myalgia.
- Uncommon (≥1/1,000 to <1/100): Hypotension, tachycardia, palpitations, syncope, vomiting, rash, hematuria.
- Rare (≥1/10,000 to <1/1,000): Priapism, sudden hearing loss, non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION), hypersensitivity reactions.
- Frequency Not Known: Seizure, transient global amnesia.
Drug interaction
Sildenafil is primarily metabolized by the CYP3A4 and CYP2C9 hepatic enzyme pathways. Concomitant use with other medications can affect its plasma concentration.
- Nitrates: Absolute Contraindication. Concomitant use can cause a severe, life-threatening drop in blood pressure.
- Alpha-blockers: Concomitant use can lead to symptomatic hypotension. A starting dose of 25 mg should be considered, and alpha-blocker dosing should be stabilized.
- Potent CYP3A4 Inhibitors: Drugs like ketoconazole, itraconazole, ritonavir, and clarithromycin can significantly increase sildenafil plasma levels. A maximum dose of 25 mg within a 48-hour period is recommended.
- Other Antihypertensives: Additive blood pressure-lowering effects may occur with other antihypertensive agents.
- Alcohol: Potentiates the blood pressure-lowering effects and can increase orthostatic hypotension.
Missed dose
Viagra Soft is not intended for chronic daily dosing; it is taken on an as-needed basis. Therefore, the concept of a “missed dose” does not apply. Simply take the next dose when needed, ensuring at least 24 hours have passed since the last administration. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
Overdose
In cases of overdose, the expected clinical findings would be an extension of the drug’s known adverse effects, primarily severe hypotension and cardiovascular complications. Standard supportive measures should be applied, including placing the patient in the supine position with the legs elevated to manage blood pressure. Hemodialysis is not expected to accelerate clearance as sildenafil is highly protein-bound and extensively metabolized.

Store at room temperature between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F). Keep in the original blister package to protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Do not use after the expiration date printed on the packaging.
