Developed through extensive research in ophthalmic phytopharmacology, it combines the synergistic actions of multiple medicinal herbs known for their anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and soothing properties. This product is engineered to address symptoms of eye strain, dryness, irritation, and minor infections, promoting a healthier ocular environment and supporting the natural tear film. It is a trusted choice for individuals seeking a natural yet potent adjunct to conventional eye care regimens.

Benefits

  • Rapidly soothes irritation, redness, and gritty sensation associated with dry eye syndrome
  • Provides natural anti-inflammatory action to reduce swelling and discomfort
  • Supports the integrity of the corneal epithelium and promotes ocular surface healing
  • Exhibits broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against common ocular pathogens

Common use

Ophthacare is commonly used for the symptomatic management of conditions such as dry eye syndrome, conjunctivitis (both allergic and infectious), blepharitis, and computer vision syndrome. It is also employed as a supportive therapy post-ocular surgery or minor corneal abrasions to encourage healing and prevent secondary infections. Patients with chronic ocular surface inflammation or those exposed to irritants like smoke, dust, or pollen may find regular use beneficial for maintaining comfort and ocular hygiene.

Dosage and direction

For general eye care and dryness: Instill 1–2 drops into the affected eye(s) two to three times daily, or as directed by a healthcare provider.
For ocular washes or more significant irritation: Use as an eye bath by applying 5–10 drops to cleanse the ocular surface.
Always wash hands before use. Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface to prevent contamination. If using other ophthalmic medications, administer Ophthacare at least 5–10 minutes apart to avoid dilution or interaction.

Precautions

Consult an ophthalmologist before use if you are pregnant, nursing, or have a known history of ocular allergies. Discontinue use and seek medical advice if irritation, pain, or visual disturbance occurs or persists. Do not use while wearing contact lenses; remove lenses prior to application and wait at least 15 minutes before reinsertion. Keep the container tightly closed when not in use to maintain sterility.

Contraindications

Ophthacare is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to any of its herbal components. It should not be used in cases of severe ocular infections requiring antibiotic therapy, perforated globe injuries, or in patients with active herpes simplex keratitis unless under direct medical supervision.

Possible side effect

While generally well-tolerated due to its natural composition, some users may experience transient mild stinging or burning upon instillation. Temporary blurring of vision may occur immediately after application. Rarely, allergic reactions such as increased redness, itching, or eyelid swelling may develop. These effects are typically self-limiting; if they persist, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.

Drug interaction

No significant pharmacokinetic interactions have been reported. However, as with any ophthalmic preparation, there is a potential for physical or chemical interaction when used concurrently with other eye drops. To minimize this, allow a sufficient interval (5–10 minutes) between administrations of different ocular medications. Inform your physician if you are using any prescription eye drops, especially those containing steroids or immunosuppressants.

Missed dose

If a dose is missed, administer it as soon as remembered. However, if it is nearly time for the next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and resume the regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed application.

Overdose

Ocular overdose is unlikely due to the formulation and typical dosage. Excessive application may lead to increased transient blurring or mild discomfort. If accidentally ingested, seek medical attention or contact a poison control center immediately, though systemic effects are rare given the topical nature of the product.

Storage

Store at room temperature (15–30°C), away from direct light and moisture. Do not freeze. Keep the container tightly closed and out of reach of children. Once opened, the multi-dose bottle should be used within 28 days to ensure efficacy and sterility. Discard any unused solution after the expiration date printed on the packaging.
